The story of Lindokuhle's mother in the book talks about how she transformed her life after enduring years of domestic violence. She went back to school at the age of 37 and finished her grade 12. She hustled for another 11 years of hardship and extreme poverty and finally graduated for her first Diploma in Education.

The Victim of Circumstances – Life of a village boy talks about the challenges faced by most young people growing up and living in villages. It speaks about how difficult it is for villagers to succeed in life because of the distance between them and opportunities. Villagers don’t have community libraries or most facilities that exist in townships and big cities. Villagers literally have to leave their homes and go to Johannesburg (usually the target) to try something with their lives. The book speaks about all the circumstances that most villagers have to overcome in their pursuit of success.

In The Victim of Circumstances – Life of a village boy, Lindokuhle Mnisi speaks about how he had to defend his dream of working in the media industry to his family members. He was told million times that he wouldn’t make it as a journalist, TV/Radio personality because it was “unrealistic” and impossible. He was told to study to become a teacher, go for training as a police officer or get a driver’s license and become and truck driver. When he refused to all these, he was disowned by the one person who bought him clothes at least every Christmas time. Lindokuhle went on to become a journalist and Radio personality. He protected his dreams and went on to achieve them.

The book has all its chapters filled with direct motivation between the lines. As much as it is a true story, it also has lots of motivational messages within. The Victim of Circumstances – Life of a village boy will definitely empower people, young and old, to always follow their dreams regardless of their current circumstances. The book is one special of a kind, written in a clear and readable English, the best received by Lindokuhle in the villages. The "village English" makes it understandable and clearer for everybody. It will encourage reading among villagers too.
