Lindokuhle Mnisi is the founder and Director of IPHUPHO CONSULTING (PTY) LTD.

He calls himself “Village Boy” and known by many as “The Dream.” He was born and bred in Mpumalanga. Positive, courageous and inspirational should have been part of his names in his identity book. He grew up in a poverty stricken community called Dundonald, in Mpumalanga. Not only his community was poor but the situation at home was worse.

His father married his mother and forced her to drop out of school. After getting married, his father who used to be a loving and caring man became an abusing drunkard. When Lindokuhle’s mother decided that “Enough is enough” with the abuse, she left with her 3 children. Poverty took over. Lindokuhle and his two big brothers started living with the single parent at the back rooms of his grandmother’s yard, since the year 2000.

His mother was uneducated and unemployed. But in 2003, she took a stand and went back to school at the age of 37 to finish up where she left off before marriage. She took bank loans to pay for tuition fees at the university. She graduated for her first Diploma at the age of 48 years in 2014. She conquered against all odds. She is a source of inspiration for Lindokuhle.

Lindokuhle has had to spend a year without attending school during his teenage days because of difficulties and poverty at home. He was lured into an Indian boarding school to study Islamic religion teachings and forced to quit normal school. After a year he decided to go back to school. He had a dream of being in the media industry but some family members told him he would never make it. He was told what to study for, when he refused, he was disowned and sabotaged.

He was once faced with a dilemma of choosing to either suffer while doing the right things or thrive and survive while doing the wrong things. Those were the days of crime. He finished Grade 12 in 2009 and got stuck in the village without any plans or money to further his studies. His breakthrough was in 2010 when he moved to Johannesburg.

Lindokuhle studied for a National Diploma in journalist at the Tshwane University of Technology. He is a Journalist by profession and is working for eTV (eNCA). He has worked at SABC. He has presented his own Talk Show on a community radio, TUT-fm. He has worked as a TV field reporter for Africa News Network 7 (ANN7) before joining eTV. He is an Author, motivational speaker, personal developer, MC/Programmes Director and entrepreneur.

“I call myself a village boy in public to make all township and city boys think they are better than me, then I let my work do the talking,”Lindokuhle Mnisi
